RE: Digital Converter FYI

Someone told us today that we had to have a Wineguard converter box or the antenna would blow our box. He said an RV tec told him that. True or False. We already got other boxes. Thx

RE: What gassers support a motorcycle carrier

We won't put a carrier on the back of our MH because it would put too much wt on the back axle. Many we have met , tow a pick up with the lift ramp to put a bike in the bed.

RE: Microwave/Convection Has failed- need to replace

We replaced ours with another Sharp because of the mounting plate. Crate and Home online $485 including shipping, took 3 days. When you remove yours have a bucket or box under it. They weigh about 70 lbs. We also bought an extended warranty since the Sharps have a poor reputation. About 7 yrs about $50

RE: Surge Guard

We use the portable with a lock cause hubby trades hardwired items with the coach. This one will go with us.

RE: Pad Advice

In hot weather asphalt will get ruts in it. We have road grade asphalt because it was put in with the barn driveway, you can drive the heavest equipment on it but parking is a different matter. It is almost 8 inches thick over many many tons of rock and slate. It has tons of compacted stone under it and we expected some rutting due to heat. We have developed one low indent even though we park on boards. We would suggest concrete especially if you have a deisel.

RE: Badlands Trip

If you have kids stop at Wall Drug, they have added a lot of neat stuff. We just returned from the trip you are proposing, Sturgis, Deadwood ( you can skip, they have built a parking lot at Rushmore, costs $10, Crazy Horse is wonderful but pricy, you can see it from the road. We spent most of the day there this time. Custer State park with the Needles and 16 A are great. We did Wind cave this time, others said Jewel is nicer but wind is interesting. Badlands are beautiful and you can do that area if you stop at Wall. In fact you can stop at Wall and drive through the Badlands on the way to Rapid City. If you go to Sturgis the week before or during bike week any campground other than a state park west of Rapid City is well over $100 a night and they want you to book a week. Try to stay at least 5 days. We stayed 5 days this time and a week the last time and still haven't seen it all. Have a great time.

RE: Convection Microwave Replacement

We ordered our new Sharp micro/conv at crate and home online was also delivered to the house for $489, also got an extended war as the Sharp we had was a pain. It had died 2 times in 2 years. DH didn't want to change mounting plates after seeing where Winnie had reinforced the walls at the plant.

RE: Brake Failure

If you have a Workhorse, get your calipers checked. We just spent 2 days at a rally. Warrenty paid for brakes on one man's brakes and the people we went with paid $1800 for his brake repair. We had a service seminar and several other Workhorse owners had had some brake problems. That said we just came from the Smokies. We followed a truck with a Lord forbid trailer hitch on the back off Clingmans dome. He rode the brakes the whole way down and turned rt to Gaitlinburg riding the brakes at 30 mile per hour the whole way, by the time we could pass him we were smelling hot brakes. We had hoped he would pull off somewhere so we could talk to him so he wouldn't kill his passengers. I can imagine him doing that with his trailer attached.

RE: Winnebago Journey 34H 2007

Horizon451, we have added nothing to our Journey and the ride is great, no roll or wind, you can take your hands off the wheel and it is straight down the road. Our friends have a 34H Meridian (same as a Journey) and they have no complaints. We as you also like the private toliet area so we can shower or use the sink.

RE: Winnebago Journey 34H 2007

Bumpy, Winnebagos have a SLIDING door between the bath and living areas. I close the bathroom door at home too. lol Tel the 34 H was on our short list but we fell into a good deal on the one be bought. The open bath with the large shower gives you extra space for dressing.

RE: AIR BAGS

You didn't say what your rig is but we had a 2000 and with a safety plus, good shocks, and correct tire inflation, we didn't have a bad ride, our only complaint was the noisey front engine. Good Luck

RE: Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, Tn campgrounds

We stayed at River Plantation last week with a rally, lots of big coaches., big sites, good power and water pressure. GS price is around $30 at this time. We rode around and looked at other campgrounds while we were there since we have both RPI and PA. Nothing compares this is a nice level campground with free Wi Fi and concrete pads. Only minus is water near front of sites and you have to watch the slides but that is anywhere you go. Location about 4 miles N of Dollywood and Stampede and good location as far as getting around in traffic.

RE: Fuel Shortage In Middle Tennessee

Flying J at exit 201 near Atlanta was limiting gasoline to 25 gals per customer today.

We are pesently in River Plantation campground at Pigeon forge. Lovely level sites along the river. Free WiFi, big sites with fire rings.

RE: Flying J - Cash price on diesel...??

Our letter from Flying J stated that after Sept 1, we would only get the cash discount with a Flying J credit card in the truck lanes. We'll use the RV lanes until our J credit card comes. We figured some one had abused the system.

RE: Diesel Fuel Additives

Put an antigel in. I had a friend who didn't and it took a loooong time to thaw his fuel lines out. We use Power Service from Walmart every few tankfulls, rt now we have the one with antigel in because we bought fuel back in the summer and sometimes in the summer we put a bioside in if the coach is going to be sitting.. The local CAT dealer recommended it.

RE: First Time Snowbirding in Florida

Lake Louisa State Park on 27 at Clermont has full hook ups, you are allowed a 2 week stay. Some of the parks on the coast keep sites open for transiets. Usually you can only stay 1 very expensive week. Good Luck

RE: Walmart Parking

Thundering I don't have pics to prove it but I can guarantee the reason that the Walmart at Kisissmmee and the one on 27 at Clerbrook put up the no parking signs was because the families doing a week at Disney and bikers doing Daytonna pushed it to the limit. Grills, rugs, lawn chairs, even a dog run set up and dog cages. The last straw was the gray water routed into the storm sewer at the K store and a black tank dumped at the Rt 27 store. It ain't no urban legend cause I saw it coming for a couple of years. Cabellas and Walmart in Lancaster County PA are under a city ordinance because it is a tourist area. We use Walmart when traveling late, I don't like trees grabbing us at night at campgrounds. We prefer Cabellas because they have dump stations and it is quiet. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil things for the rest of us.
